"It can be hard to find the company you are looking for." Yesterday we got a chance to meet one of our favorite illustrators, Lisa Brown. She and Lemony Snicket read from their new book, Goldfish Ghost. It’s a quiet, beautiful and contemplative story about friendship, loneliness and belonging. We love Lisa’s thoughtful approach as an artist and picture book maker, and we very much look forward to her future work.

Waiting was NOT easy for this one. It’s here! Nate couldn’t be more excited for the arrival of An Elephant and Piggie Biggie. Mo Willems’ celebrated series has played one of the most significant roles in turning Nate into an independent reader this year, and I imagine that it’s done the same for so many others. We love E&P for their friendship, authentic emotions and fun. Long live these two friends! Published by Disney Hyperion Books.

The Dinner That Cooked Itself is an old Chinese folk tale brought to life by Kenard Pak’s atmospheric art, beautifully textured and layered. It tells the story of Tuan, a simple but hard-working man, who one night, shows kindness to the smallest of creatures—a snail. Tuan’s compassion is rewarded in a magical way. Readers who are willing to take part in the wonder of this enchanting tale will be rewarded with a story they won’t forget.
