Knowing the countless hours that are spent putting together a party, I wanted Avery's 5th birthday to be simple but lovely and special. It took place at Layer Cake Bakery, a beautiful and airy bakery and cafe with a modern and industrial aesthetic. I set out to put together an essential set of party elements: centerpieces, a table runner and favors. The decorations centered around a color palette of oranges, yellows and grays with hints of other colors mixed in to round out the look. We used pinwheels left over from Avery's baby shower as centerpieces, reworked a little with yellow and gray striped straws from Sweet Estelle. Sprinkled on the table were confetti (to serve as a table runner of sorts) made using a Marvy Uchida circle punch and Paper Source paper. Avery's friends took home Hello Me and Hello Robot Get-Set Placemats by Hello Hanna as favors (we had some Hello Me placemats that were sent to us a while back as part of a giveaway). The Hello Hanna stickers were placed in these adorable gray polka-dotted bags finished with personalized cat labels from Paper Culture and duck-shaped paper clips. A balloon artist from Super Inflated was on hand to twist fun balloon sculptures for Avery and her friends. Thanks to everyone who celebrated Avery's birthday with her!
